He says the system’s most prominent benefit is creating and maintaining real efficiency, fairness, and most importantly, a City that emphasises training world-class employees who can excel in other city departments or change jobs. He says winning the Employee Innovation Challenge makes him feel heard and valued for his ideas, which is incredibly motivating.
“It fosters a culture of openness, collaboration, and innovation where employees feel empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and creativity. When employees know that their ideas are welcomed and appreciated, they’re more likely to actively engage in problem-solving, think outside the box, and go the extra mile to drive positive change within the organisation,” he says.
Linda encourages other employees to participate in these opportunities, describing it as a life-changing experience and an achievement that no one can take away from you.
