Since sharing my heart-rending story with you exactly two years ago, my female-empowerment initiative – The Fix – has continued to grow in leaps and bounds, catapulting me onto international platforms.
Designed to cultivate confidence and courage in women battered by life’s burdens, The Fix, a non-profit organisation, has grown not only in numbers but in changing lives too.
I created a YouTube video podcast in January last year dubbed “The Fix with Righteous” to expand the work of motivating people to carry life’s heavy burdens lighter. I have also received international exposure outside my circle of influence and managed to interact with scores of vulnerable people all over the world.
In February last year, I was invited to share my story on CENTTWINS TV’s YouTube channel, I’ve Been Through The Most, and that’s how the breakthrough for The Fix came about.
I have since been inundated with invitations from people across the world who not only want me to share my story but also relay their ordeals to me. It seems, like me, a lot of people are going through emotional trauma.
I now counsel and motivate women and vulnerable members of society to work hard to achieve their full potential and not to allow any situation to bring them down.
My first experience with emotional trauma started shortly after my three-day “perfect wedding” in April 2017, when my husband divorced me five months after our nuptials for no apparent reason. I launched “The Fix” in September 2019 to talk about how I beat depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts and “got fixed”.
Throughout my life’s journey, I have learned that forgiveness is the best medication for any pain. I have forgiven myself, my ex, and the situation itself. I am grateful that my life has transformed for the better. I have set free my emotions from the prison of blame and shame and have subsequently unbound myself from holding any grudges.
I now live a life free of resentment and I want to share with you how therapeutic forgiveness is for oneself, especially in a society were dealing with psychological and emotional challenges is not a priority.
I am hosting a conference themed ‘The Power of Forgiveness’ on Saturday, 18 September 2021, in Ivory Park. I urge you to consider joining us because we cater for virtual and in-person audiences. Many people feel they are facing life alone. By listening to others who have triumphed over similar issues might offer you a lifeline.
