The Joburg Roads Agency (JRA) Depot in Region F has undergone a much-needed refurbishment, improving both its functionality and appearance after years of neglect due to budget constraints. Depot Manager Chris Bruyn welcomed the transformation, saying the improvements had lifted morale and restored pride among staff.
“The depot was previously an eyesore, and both employees and councillors often felt embarrassed. Now, with fresh paint, new tiles, and working facilities, it has become a space we can be proud of,” he said.
The upgrade is part of JRA CEO Zweli Nyathi’s commitment to refurbish depots across the city, ensuring they are well-maintained and presentable.
The renovation included fixing long-standing plumbing problems, repainting, tiling, and strengthening security measures to better safeguard the City’s resources. These changes not only enhance daily operations but also create a more welcoming environment for staff, councillors, and the public.
“With these upgrades, the depot is better equipped to serve the people of Johannesburg with renewed professionalism and commitment,” Bruyn added.
