Parkhurst Library, in partnership with Parkhurst Clinic and Parkhurst Recreation Centre, hosted a lively and informative open day that brought the community together on 27 November 2024.
The event, held at the recreation centre, featured engaging stalls and presentations showcasing the range of services available at the library and its partners.
The library highlighted its access to diverse reading resources, community activities, and educational programmes tailored to support lifelong learning. This collaborative effort emphasised the vital role each institution plays in fostering an informed, connected, and thriving community.
One of the participants, Thato Selope, 26, expressed her appreciation for the event. “It’s inspiring to see how these local facilities come together to serve and uplift the community. I learned so much about the library’s services and feel motivated to make use of them more often.”
The open day successfully demonstrated the power of collaboration in creating opportunities for community members to engage, learn, and connect. Parkhurst Library and its partners remain committed to enhancing access to information and resources for all residents.
