JTC Partners With Music & Lifestyle Expo to Boost Tourism

Johannesburg Tourism Company (Joburg Tourism) proudly supports the 2024 Music and Lifestyle Expo, set to take place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 15–16 November 2024. Now in its third edition, the event celebrates music, trade, gastronomy, and entertainment, attracting visitors from across South Africa and beyond.

This year’s expo is expected to draw 4,000 attendees, featuring performances by South African icons like Sjava, Mandisi Dyantyis, and Zama Jobe, alongside international stars such as Malian singer-songwriter Salif Keita and Brooklyn-based Tortured Soul. These acts will further cement Johannesburg’s reputation as a top destination for cultural and entertainment experiences.

Joburg Tourism’s support aligns with its mission to position the city as Africa’s premier business and lifestyle hub.

“The Music and Lifestyle Expo is a great opportunity to showcase Johannesburg’s vibrant appeal for both leisure and business travellers,” says Joburg Tourism CEO Thandubuhle Mgudlwa. “Our partnership with this event reinforces Joburg’s image while driving economic growth and boosting tourism.”

The expo provides significant benefits, including market access for over 68 SMMEs, enhanced brand exposure, and economic stimulation through visitor spending. It also supports Joburg Tourism’s objectives of increasing visitor numbers and promoting signature events throughout the year.

Drawing tourists from provinces such as Limpopo, North-West, and KwaZulu-Natal, the event fosters social cohesion and highlights Johannesburg’s thriving second economy, where small businesses play a vital role in the city’s development.

“This partnership underscores Joburg Tourism’s dedication to economic growth and ensuring Johannesburg remains a competitive and desirable destination,” Mgudlwa concludes.
