Ayanda Ntshingila, a seasoned marketer and veteran in the financial services industry, sees her new position at the JRA as an excellent opportunity to gain experience and advance her career. Ntshingila assumed the post of Head of Public Relations (PR) and Stakeholder Engagements on Tuesday, 1 November and has laid the groundwork for her team, setting a high standard for what she expects of them.
She has already been introduced to the JRA’s impromptu way of life, having had to make site visits due to recent heavy rains that caused disruptions on the City’s roads.
Ntshingila is a seasoned marketer and communicator who is a member of the Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA) and is working towards becoming a Chartered Marketer.
“I am thrilled to be joining the JRA, an esteemed municipal entity whose success I hope to significantly contribute to during the current term of office and possibly in the future,” she says.
Her expertise includes trend analysis, strategy development, marketing management, digital marketing, integrated marketing, event management, and advertising. She has also taken on several corporate social responsibilities.
“I hope to ply my skills in this trade while collaborating with my capable team to ensure we meet the entity’s objectives,” Ntshingila adds.
A strong marketing professional, Ntshingila holds a general management certificate with a global immersion in Singapore and Vietnam from the Gordon Institute of Business (GIBS), a management advancement programme (MAP) certificate, and another one focused on general management.
She also boasts a postgraduate qualification in brand and marketing management from VEGA School, and an undergraduate degree in humanities from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
Before joining the JRA, Ntshingila worked at Old Mutual as a manager for strategic business partnerships, where she was responsible for local clients as well as those in 11 other African countries where the pan-African investment, savings, insurance, and banking conglomerate operates.
She says she is looking forward to improving communication at the JRA and presenting a more positive image of the organisation to all stakeholders.
She also wants to improve performance management systems to ensure the agency’s PR objectives are met.
“I will be diligently monitoring the performance of my team to ensure we maximise the JRA’s brand presence on all media channels, including social media,” she says.
