Johannesburg Tourism Company Shines at ITB Berlin 2024

Johannesburg Tourism Company (JTC) proudly announces its triumphant participation at the ITB Berlin 2024 travel trade show, led by the distinguished delegation comprising MMC: Economic Development at the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Nomoya Mnisi, JTC Board Chairperson Gugu Sithole and JTC Destination Marketing Manager Lumka Dlomo. The JTC delegation engaged in a series of impactful meetings with key players in the European travel trade, fostering collaborations and exploring innovative ways to enhance tourism offerings and elevate the tourism industry in Johannesburg. A highlight of the event was the active involvement of MMC Mnisi and Ms Sithole in attending conferences focused on identifying new strategies to further boost the tourism sector in the vibrant metropolis.

In a momentous celebration, MMC Mnisi, Ms Sithole, and the Ambassador of South Africa to Germany in Berlin, HE Stone Sizani, congratulated Flying Media CEO Sven Klawunder. 

Flying Media was honoured with the prestigious Golden Star Award at the Golden City Gate Awards 2024. 

This accolade recognised their outstanding promotional video showcasing the Sanctuary Mandela Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg.

The Golden City Gate Awards are a testament to the excellence and creativity demonstrated by Flying Media, highlighting the allure of Johannesburg’s tourism gems. 

The recognition further reinforces Johannesburg’s standing as a global tourism destination with world-class offerings – and the benefits of participating on international tourism trade platforms.

JTC extends its gratitude to all participants, collaborators, and supporters who contributed to the success of the delegation at ITB Berlin 2024. It remains committed to fostering growth, innovation and sustainable development in Johannesburg’s tourism industry.
