Joburg Splashes Into the 2025/26 Swimming Season

The City of Johannesburg is excited to announce the start of the 2025/26 public swimming season, with 32 pools open from 1 September 2025. The season will run until the end of March 2026, giving residents ample time to enjoy the facilities.

The Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Development, Councillor Tebogo Nkokou, is currently conducting oversight visits to several of the City’s pools.

These visits form part of the City’s commitment to ensuring communities have access to safe, well-maintained recreational facilities.

“The safety of our residents is a top priority. Through these oversight visits, we aim to expedite the opening of pools while ensuring they are in excellent condition,” said Cllr Nkokou.

Pools will be open from Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 6pm, and on weekends from 9am to 5pm. They will also be open on public holidays and Mondays during school holidays, from 9am to 5pm, but will remain closed on normal Mondays. Entry fees start at R7 for children and R21 for adults.
