The Telkom Netball League perfectly complements the City of Johannesburg’s vision of becoming the “Sporting City of Choice.” Councillor Lubabalo Magwentshu, MMC for Community Development, reaffirmed the City’s commitment to recognizing and promoting women’s sports. 

He further emphasized the league’s positive impact on empowering young girls and fostering their athletic aspirations.

Netball South Africa initially raised concerns about security in Johannesburg. However, the City is unwavering in its commitment to resident safety and maintaining its reputation as the “Sporting City of Choice.” This dedication is exemplified by the upcoming Springboks vs. New Zealand match scheduled for later this year at the very same Ellis Park precinct. 

This trust from prestigious sporting bodies further cements Johannesburg’s position as a prime sporting destination.
