Joburg Market has empowered its workforce through the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) study bursary, enabling staff to gain critical skills that drive departmental growth.
In 2024, two employees graduated with an Advanced Diploma in General Management from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), enhancing their leadership capabilities.
Tshegofatso Maakwe, Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, noted the programme’s impact: “It deepened my understanding of retail trends, stakeholder engagement, and strategic marketing—key to positioning Joburg Market as an industry leader.” She added that the skills gained in leadership and problem-solving have strengthened her team management and event coordination, including preparations for the upcoming WUWM 2025 Conference.
Meshack Ntsoane, Potato Hall Supervisor, highlighted how the bursary advanced his career: “The qualification equipped me with leadership, operational efficiency, and supply chain management skills—directly applicable to my supervisory role.”
By prioritising continuous learning, Joburg Market ensures its employees are equipped to contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s success.
