With Covid-19 lockdown restrictions and the National State of Disaster a thing of the past, Joburg is hitting its stride as the pace picks up and the vibrant city is bursting with diverse lifestyle experiences for locals and visitors to enjoy.
“Ahead of the Easter weekend, Joburg is back with a bang this April! From north to south, east to west, Soweto to Sandton and further afield, there’s no shortage of activities on offer!” says Cllr Nkululeko Mbundu, the MMC for Economic Development at the City of Johannesburg.
“We welcome the positive impact live events and promotions have on the City’s economy. As an example, 2018 statistics for the Rand Show alone indicated a R50 million injection into the Gauteng economy as a direct result of visitor expenditure show, creating more than 1,000 jobs for the duration of the event, and bringing 46,000 visitors from outside Gauteng into the province.
“We really hope to see even more impressive figures for this year’s event after a two year hiatus due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Amidst all the festivities and activities on offer throughout Joburg, we urge residents and visitors to enjoy themselves, while staying safe and being responsible. Here’s just a small sample of diverse activities to expect in Jozi.”
