Community Fitness Event Raises Breast Cancer Awareness in Region F

Region F Sport and Recreation and Bonfit hosted a bootcamp and aerobics session at the South Rand Recreation Centre in Ward 57 on Saturday, 19 October 2024.

Held from 7am to 9am, the event was organised to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encourage healthier lifestyles within the local community.

The session featured a range of fitness activities, including aerobics and drills, led by experienced trainers. The goal was not only to promote physical fitness but also to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Participant Mbali Mtshali praised the initiative, saying, “I feel more energised and motivated to stay healthy. It’s inspiring to see so many people coming together for a cause like breast cancer awareness.”

Bonfit also contributed to the event by offering health education, highlighting the significance of regular check-ups and staying active as a preventive measure. The bootcamp was part of ongoing community engagement efforts throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, combining fitness with vital health education.
