City’s Ruimsig Athletics Stadium to host Arnold Classic Africa Sports Festival

The City is a proud host and partner of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Africa Sports Festival. The festival is a multi-sport and arts extravaganza, which is one of the biggest international promoters of sports, arts and culture.
This year, the Arnold Classic Africa Sports Festival will be hosted at the City-owned Ruimsig Athletics Stadium from 3 to 5 June 2022. To ensure Covid-19 regulations and protocols are adhered to, the festival will now take place in an open-air environment with 50-plus tents erected on site.
While bodybuilding and power sports are at the heart of the festival given Schwarzenegger’s passion and lifetime commitment to weightlifting, the festival will also have over 55 sporting codes.
Athletes across several sporting codes such as aerial sports, arm wrestling, martial arts and basketball will have the opportunity to promote their fields on a global arena and encourage new participation.
The event will be jam-packed with various activities including the “come and try” programme, which is aimed at encouraging people to participate in their favourite sport. Visitors can participate in physical sports or mentally challenging sports such as chess, speed cube and lego.
Tickets are sold at Web Tickets. Bring the whole family to experience this unique event that offers something for everyone.
