City’s Moloi joins prestigious International Athletics Foundation Council

“I am thrilled and honoured to be a member of this distinguished council. I will do my best to represent the county in a manner befitting of the trust placed in me.” This was the response of James Moloi after being elected to be a member of the International Athletics Foundation Council from 2024 to 2027. Moloi, the president of Athletics South Africa and the City of Johannesburg Sport Manager, has added a new feather in his cap after being inducted as a member of the council under the chairmanship of the renowned English athlete Sebastian Coe.

It boasts a diverse and illustrious list of individuals committed to shaping the global landscape of athletics.

These include influential Prince Nawaf Bin Mohammed Al Saud from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Nawal El Moutawakel hailing from Morocco, among others.

The council’s mandate is to explore new avenues, foster collaboration, and address the challenges facing the world of athletics.

Moloi’s election to this esteemed council not only underscores his personal achievements but also highlights the growing influence of Athletics South Africa on the global stage.

As the council embarks on its journey from 2024 to 2027, the collective efforts of these distinguished individuals promise to leave an indelible mark on the world of athletics, shaping its future for generations to come.
