Swiss professional golfer Chiara Tamburlini returns to the Joburg Ladies Open this week to defend her title at Modderfontein Golf Club.
Tamburlini’s victory in 2024 marked her first victory in the Ladies European Tour (LET). “I’m really excited to be back at the Joburg Ladies Open. I’ve never had an opportunity to defend a title so this will be my first time. And you know there’s just a lot of good memories from this golf course winning my first LET event here,” she said with a big smile.
It’s her second time back in Johannesburg and she feels welcome. “I feel good about being back in Johannesburg. It’s my second time being here and I’m enjoying it. I think the people are friendly and we’ve been having some good sushi and steaks so that’s quite exciting,” Tamburlini says.
Joburg Ladies Open officially tee off on Thursday, 3 April 2025, and the final round is on Sunday, 6 April 2025. The tournament which is co-sanctioned by the Sunshine Ladies Tour and the Ladies European Tour are open to spectators to experience the action live from the lush lawns of the Modderfontein Golf Club.

- Parking & Transport: Use park and ride service at Stoneridge Shopping Centre due to limited parking at Modderfontein Golf Club. Stoneridge Shopping Centre is located at 1 Hereford & Modderfontein Road. Shuttles will transport spectators to and from the golf course
- Free entry: Joburg Ladies Open is a free entry tournament for spectators
- Supporting a Cause: This year’s tournament continues Birdies for Dignity initiative aimed at restoring dignity to young girls. Spectators are encouraged to donate sanitary towels and toiletries to the initiative.
