The Soweto Cheese and Wine Festival 2023 attracted more than 500 patrons to the Soweto Theatre on Bolani Road in Jabulani, who were treated to unforgettable experience that combines mouthwatering cheese complemented by the best local South African wines at the weekend.

Attendees also enjoyed electrifying performances featuring some of the South African’s top bands and DJs such as Ralf Gum, Deep Soul, Paul V, Masterz of Groov and others. The festival, hosted by Seven Colour Sundays and Tall Horse Wine, brought together wine enthusiast providing them with an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas and enjoy the rich world of wine while immersing in the beautiful landscape of Soweto.
Exhibitors such as Michelle by KayN, Fat Bastard wine and Kgomotso Legacy had a chance to showcase a wide range of their finest wines from different regions and grape varieties.
Kagiso Noke, the founder of Michelle by KayN wine, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and found the event to be a platform to showcase flavors of his brand.
“The festival gave me the opportunity to connect with potential customers from all around Soweto,” said Noke.
The festival also offered opportunity to shoppers and art lovers to connect and discover unique and creative items they may not find elsewhere while also enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
Sivile Khanyile from Tall Horse Wine expressed delight at the turnout and the success of this year’s Soweto Cheese and Wine Festival.
“It is heartwarming to see so many people from diverse backgrounds come together to celebrate the flavours, music, and culture that make Soweto truly special,” he said.
Vincent Motau, the General Manager of Soweto Theatre, said the festival brought a lot of positive energy and vibrancy to the venue.
“Events of this nature not only showcase local wines but also contribute to the cultural and social life of the Soweto community,” said Motau.
