Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to the Johannesburg Zoo that has a lot of creatures who look just like you! The Joburg Zoo is turning a 119 years in March. To celebrate with residents and zoo lovers, it is offering pupils and teachers entry at a special discounted offer for the whole of March. Jenny Moodley, the GM for Stakeholder & Public Relations for City Parks and Zoo, says it is an ideal place for both learning and fun.
“The zoo is an outside classroom with more than enough educational and engaging opportunities for learners.
We are therefore happy to decrease our entry fees for our birthday month to allow more people to enjoy our beloved zoo,” says Moodley.
For scholars and teachers, the fees will be R19 a person, which means you can book twice as many pupils to visit.
“We urge schools to make use of the opportunity and allow learners to experience the 55 hectares of land at the zoo, which houses over 320 animal species and approximately 2 000 animals, including critically endangered species like the Pickersgill Reed frog and others,” says Moodley.
