The Extension 2 Clinic in Eldorado Park, Region G, reopened on 23 October 2023, much to the great relief of residents. This after a concerted internal effort by senior health management, the JMPD, SAPS and the employee assistance unit to provide healthcare to the community despite some important issues remaining unresolved from a public meeting of 18 October 2023. On 20 October 2023, preparations got underway for the reopening by deep cleaning the clinic, checking medical stock, cutting the tree that obstructed the view on the premises and most importantly acquiring the services of an additional three security guards.

This brings a greater sense of safety and comfort to nursing staff who have always been willing to serve the community under the oath taken as professionals.
The City of Johannesburg implores the community to take responsibility for the clinic as they had promised in the meeting.
This includes respecting staff and abiding by the procedures and policies in place for the smooth running of the clinic.
Any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the clinic or vandalism should be reported to Eldorado Park police and to be especially alert after hours when security guards are vulnerable to attacks.
