Back by popular demand, ‘Nothing But The Truth’ by John Kani returns for yet another run at Theatre on the Square. The iconic South African play will take the stage for a three-week run from 3-21 October 2023.

‘Nothing But The Truth’ made its first appearance in 2002 and has since reaped the status of being one of the country’s most theatrical experiences. If you are interested in a firsthand experience and view of South Africa’s relentless struggle against apartheid, then this show is a must-see for you. ‘Nothing But The Truth’ offers profound examination of the tension that exists between those who made profound sacrifices to fight for freedom and those who later returned to their homeland as heroes.

“We are honoured to bring this South African classic to the stage once again and extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us for an unforgettable performance,” says producer and owner of Sandton’s Theatre on the Square Daphne Kuhn. 

The play exemplifies a compelling storyline that delves deep into the intricacies of familial relationships and explores the harrowing experiences of those who endured exile during the apartheid era. It also includes an ensemble of exceptional actors under the skilful direction of Charmaine Weir-Smith. Renowned actors Sello Maake Ka-Ncube, Mbali Nhlapo and Ziaphora Dakile will take you on a journey of emancipation.
