Be the change you want to see and join Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ) by participating in this year’s World Clean-up Day on Saturday, 17 September 2022. To observe the day, over 1 000 volunteers will be gathering along our spruits from Delta Park along the Braamfontein spruit to the Klipspruit in Soweto and the Jukskei in Alexandra to clean up our water bodies from 8am to 2pm.

Residents will gather at Delta Park for tree planting, picnic and a concert with the Joburg Orchestra.
“September is celebrated in the City as Arbor Month and we would like to take this opportunity to reclaim our rivers and give residents the opportunity to join in and make their mark in their City,” says Member of the Mayoral Committee Cllr Ronald Harris.
“Absolutely everyone can participate. You could join us at the spruits or somewhere near your home. It starts with you and I. A cleaner and greener tomorrow is in our hands.
Residents also stand a chance to win tickets to the Joburg Zoo and picnic hampers by showing us their participation. Residents are encouraged to upload a picture of the space they are cleaning using the hashtag #WorldCleanUpDayJoburg and tagging @JoburgParksZoo.
