Joburg’s most listened to commercial regional radio station, 947 has partnered with global electronics device producer, Samsung, to host a two-day music extravaganza dubbed Galaxy947Move at Prime View Adventure and Leisure in Olifantsfontein, Midrand. Pencilled for Friday, 4 and Saturday, 5 November, the Galaxy947Move festival will feature a captivating line-up of South Africa’s best performers and emerging talent.

Joburg revellers can look forward to spending the first weekend of November immersed in all the music that captures the spirit of the city while jamming to a host of top musical acts. Drafted on the festival bill are award-winning artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Mi Casa, Matthew Mole, Zakes Bantwini, and Jessy Clegg.

One of the headline acts to top the festival bill is internationally acclaimed rapper-songwriter Nasty C, who recently signed to Def Jam Recordings.

947 station manager Ravi Naidoo says the line-up for the Galaxy947Move is fantastic, noting there’s more to come.

“We’re excited to bring this phenomenal event to all who love Joburg, and we are returning the love given by the community through the very best that local music and talent have to offer in a two-day bumper event,” Naidoo says.

Other artists on the festival schedule are rapper, songwriter, and music producer Blxckie; nascent musician Will Linley; and Musa Keys, who calls himself the ‘Tsonga Michael Jackson’.

“If Joburg is South Africa’s heart, then 947 is its racing pulse. Our job is to make our audience laugh and to give them a lift. As a station we have a passion for changing lives in Joburg by amplifying the generosity of its people,” he adds.

Mzansi Magic TV presenter Tay Flavour; SAMA Award-winning music producer and songwriter Sun EL Musician; house music producer and club Dj Prince Kaybee; dancer, Dj, and singer Costa Titch; as well as resident 947 technician and Dj Vin Deysel will perform at a live Bloc Party on the first night of the festival.

The two-day Galaxy947Move jamboree takes place at Prime View Adventure and Leisure at the intersection of Old Olifantsfontein (R101) and Olifantsfontein Road (R562) in Olifantsfontein, Midrand.

Tickets cost R350 for Friday night, and R500 for the Saturday show; a weekend pass retails at R800. Log on to www.ticketpro.co.za and search for Galaxy947Move to purchase your tickets.
