It is the season to be jolly and what better way to celebrate it than to visit the Johannesburg Zoo for the annual Festival of Lights.
Joburg Theatre, Joburg City Parks and Zoo and City Power are excited to present the annual Joburg Festival of Lights featuring tons of exciting things to see, experience and eat.
The festival starts on 26 November 2022 and will illuminate Parktown, where the zoo is located, until 01 January 2023.
That’s more than enough time for patrons to visit the enchanting collection of life-sized animal characters and lit trees in the pathways of the zoo.
Included in the must-sees is the new collection of life-size animal characters such as the lion, elephant, and the newly added gigantic Christmas tree, called the Tree of Life with a star that lights up the City of Joburg to add more fun.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the City of Joburg entities on this annual event. Joburg Zoo is vividly decorated with blazing lights as we welcome the festive season,” says Xoliswa Nduneni-Ngema, the CEO of Joburg Theatres.
She added that Joburg Theatres was taking theatre to the people.
“Patrons can expect amusing entertainment and riveting performances through the festival of lights,” adds Nduneni-Ngema.
The festival promises to provide classical and harmonious entertainment. Food and a craft night market for visitors to enjoy.
Gates open from 7pm until 10pm daily. Tickets are available at https://www.joburgtheatre.com/ at R85 for children between the ages of 2 and 12. Pensioners pay R90 and adults R165.
