Joburg Market strengthens relations with Limpopo farmers at Agri 5 Expo

Joburg Market is deepening its engagement with Limpopo farmers following strong interest from producers who want closer access to South Africa’s largest fresh produce marketplace.

Responding to this call, the Market supported and exhibited at the Agri 5 Expo, the province’s biggest gathering of farmers, suppliers and agribusiness stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications team used the platform to strengthen long-standing relationships with Limpopo producers and gain first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping their agricultural activities.

Led by acting Senior Manager: Marketing and Communications Tshegofatso Maakwe, the team met established suppliers and emerging farmers hoping to access Joburg Market. Across these discussions, one message stood out: Farmers want Joburg Market to bring trading information and support closer to them through more regular and on-the-ground engagements in Limpopo.

Maakwe emphasised the importance of these conversations, noting that Limpopo remains one of Joburg Market’s key supplier regions. “Farmers expressed a strong desire for Joburg Market to come to Limpopo and engage them directly. This shows the trust they place in the Market. We are committed to nurturing that relationship and creating meaningful platforms that make it easier for producers to access and benefit from the Market.”

By participating in the Agri 5 Expo, Joburg Market reaffirmed its commitment to empowering both established and emerging farmers through improved market access, transparent trading systems and greater opportunities for business growth.
