The new Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Environment and Infrastructure Services Department in City of Johannesburg Cllr Michael Sun says Joburg must shine with new vigour.
Cllr Sun says the new multi-party administration will ensure that residents feel positive changes in enhanced service delivery.

A lawyer by training, MMC Sun is not new to the City, having served residents as a councillor since 2006. He is in his fourth term in Council. He was also previously MMC for Public Safety from 2016 to 2019, where the City became remarkably safer and experienced a reduction in crime.
After taking the reins at the Environment and Infrastructure Services Department, he has pledged to steer the department to bring the City’s residents and businesses efficient and improved services.
The Environment and Infrastructure Services Department is at the coal face of service delivery and is responsible City Power, Johannesburg Water and Pikitup, the City’s entities that play a key role in service delivery.
The Department is also responsible for the protection, conservation and management of the environment through implementation of regulatory mechanisms and oversight of the City’s other municipal-owned entities.
“We need to protect the environment, reduce pollution and sustain a healthy eco-system for both human and other beings,” said MMC Sun.
