​​​Randburg Library hosted an exciting regional round of the Battle of the Books competition on 16 October 2024.

Participating schools included Gr Harris Primary and Franklin D Primary from Region B, and Unified Primary School and Nomzamo Madikizela Mandela Primary from Region C.

Unified Primary School emerged victorious in this round and will advance to the finals at the end of the month. Before the competition began, library staff entertained the children with fun riddles as an icebreaker, setting a lively atmosphere.

Karabo Teko, one of the participants, expressed enthusiasm about the event.

The Battle of the Books not only encourages a love for reading but also fosters teamwork and friendly competition among young readers.
