Aqua Aerobics Bring Joy at Southern Suburbs Pool

The Southern Suburbs Swimming Pool in Region F hosted a vibrant aqua aerobics event in partnership with Gauteng Sports, Arts, and Culture on Saturday, 12 October 2024. A total of 36 participants enjoyed the fun and fitness benefits of this low-impact workout.

Aqua aerobics, also known as water aerobics, uses water resistance to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and boost cardiovascular health. The exercise is gentle on the joints, making it ideal for all ages and fitness levels.

What makes aqua aerobics special is that it uses the water’s natural resistance and the ability to float to create a workout that is gentle on the joints, making it suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Despite its low impact, the exercises provide great results, helping participants tone their muscles, improve endurance, and stay fit.

Participant Boitumelo Motaung described the experience as “fun and refreshing”, adding, “I feel energised and healthier after each session”. This event highlighted how accessible and enjoyable fitness can bring communities together to promote well-being.
