Region D, in partnership with Ravens on Mission, recently hosted a vibrant holiday program at the Protea Glen Local Grounds, Extension 4, in Ward 14.
The event, held from 10am to 1pm, provided a day of excitement and entertainment for children aged 4 to 19 years. Participants enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including five-a-side soccer, an egg race, blind soccer, mgusha, tug of war, a one-leg race, and musical chairs. The friendly competition fostered teamwork and camaraderie among the young attendees, creating lasting memories.
Refreshments were provided throughout the day to ensure participants remained energised and hydrated.
One of the participants, 10-year-old Ayanda Mnisi, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating: “It was so much fun! My favourite game was the tug of war because we all worked together.”
The holiday programme was a resounding success, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children in the community to play, learn, and connect. The event emphasized the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and staying active while ensuring a day filled with fun.
