Today, City of Johannesburg staff came together at Marks Park in Emmarentia for their fourth annual Employee Day—a vibrant celebration of health, teamwork, and fun.
Packed with diverse activities, the event encourages colleagues to pursue wellness goals while enjoying a relaxed, entertaining atmosphere.
The day began with motivating speeches from Acting City Manager Tshepo Makola and MMC for Group Corporate and Shared Services, Cllr Loyiso Masuku. Both emphasised the value of such initiatives, designed with employee wellbeing at heart.
Although the Acting City Manager had intended to delve into several critical issues and address concerns previously raised by staff, he decided it would be more beneficial to reserve those discussions for a dedicated Q&A session scheduled in May. This way, he can offer his complete attention to everyone.
Similarly, MMC Masuku reassured employees of the importance of their voices, stating that she is always available to listen to anyone who feels they have been overlooked.
Under clear skies and perfect weather, the event is in full swing, with lively activities fostering camaraderie. As the afternoon unfolds, excitement builds towards the grand finale—prize-giving ceremonies and spirited competitions, promising a memorable close to a fantastic day.
