Strubensvalley Library was filled with love, laughter, and learning as they celebrated Valentine’s Day with little ones from Follow Me Christian Pre-School on 14 February 2025. The event was a heart-warming experience, bringing together creativity and storytelling to make the day truly special.
The young participants had a fantastic time crafting their own Valentine’s Day cards, expressing their affection through colourful designs and heartfelt messages. The library provided all the necessary materials, allowing the children to let their imaginations run wild as they decorated their cards with stickers, glitter, and drawings.
The event continued with an engaging storytelling session, where the children gathered around to listen to a tale about kindness, friendship, and love. The session not only entertained the little ones but also instilled valuable lessons about caring for others and expressing emotions through words and actions.
One of the participants, Khumo Mokone, shared their excitement, saying: “I had so much fun making my card! I can’t wait to give it to my mom. The story was also very nice; it made me happy.”
The event highlighted the library’s commitment to fostering a love for books and creativity among young children. By blending fun activities with storytelling, Strubensvalley Library continues to play a vital role in encouraging early literacy and making learning an enjoyable experience.
As the children left with their handmade cards and big smiles, it was clear that the celebration had left a lasting impression, making this Valentine’s Day one to remember for both the little ones and the library staff.
